happy halloween people of the internet.
Well, it’s officially the end of the spooky season. I hope everyone reading had a great time celebrating and dressing up. My boyfriend and I spent the holiday weekend attending a few parties and trick-or-treating in a local neighborhood. And yes I know I’m a 20Somthing, but you are never too old to trick-or-treat! Plus the neighborhood we went to is known for its boozy adult treats.
My boyfriend and I decided to dress up as Princess Buttercup and Westley from the 1987 classic, The Princess Bride. I got to admit, for our first Halloween costume, I think we hit it out of the park.
I got my dress off Amazon, and he used some spare fabric and his work outfit to get the pirate look. His sword was from Spirit Halloween, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find a link for it.
I absolutely loved the dress. It was cooler than I thought it would be and super flattering. I’ll be wearing it again to the Medieval Fair in a few weeks, and I can’t wait to pair it with a cloak and a corset if I can find one in time.
Trick-or-treating itself was a lot of fun, especially since my boyfriend, few friends, and I got our own golf cart to run around the neighborhood in. We started by going down side streets and collecting as much candy as we could. I’m a huge fan of peanut M&M’s, and by the end of the night, I had collected enough to last me till next Halloween. We also collected plenty of drinks and snacks along the way. My boyfriend loved being able to pour whisky on some Kona Ice.
By the end of the night, we were all happy, gitty, and feeling like kids again. To me, that’s what Halloween is about. Enjoying life and connecting to your inner child.
My absolute favorite time of the year is the holidays. And with spooky season over it’s time for fairy lights, mistletoe, Jingle Bells, and all the festive fixings. Time for me to break out my coziest and oversized sweaters, get that pumpkin spice latte, and build the perfect Christmas playlist.
So I hope everyone gets festive and has a great week! Let me know what you dressed up as this year!
